Below is the basic information on the requirements and differences between dealers, wholesalers and distributors:
Dealer Requirements
A dealer is simply an individual or company that purchase the product in bulk at a discounted rate and resells directly to their customers.
The only requirement to become a Leather Mate or Urad dealer is that you purchase a minimum product order of at least one case (contains 36 jars of product).
There is no limit to the number of dealers that can operate in a particular area.
If you will be operating in an area already covered by a distributor, your order will be filled by them, otherwise it will ship within 24 hours from our main delivery warehouse closest to you.
You will have access to product information, selling techniques and tips. You will also be able to obtain product brochures (full color, glossy) that can be personalized to your company and used to assist you with sales.
Wholesaler Requirements
Most of our wholesalers sell to individual customers as well as retail outlets in their area.
A wholesaler receives a higher discount and also more extensive help and assistance in promoting and selling the product in their area. This is in the form of promotion, manuals, successful sales tips and personal telephone assistance.
Before placing a wholesale order you should first ensure there are no existing wholesalers in your area. You do this by emailing us via the contact page of our website.
A wholesaler is not required to sign any contracts or waivers, or maintain minimum monthly sales targets. Their main requirment is that they place a minimum wholesale order of 5 cases, and that they do not operate in an area covered by an existing wholesaler.
We will not set up new wholesalers in your area, and will direct all dealer requests to you.
Distributor Requirements
Becoming a Urad or Leather Mate distributor is a serious undertaking. It grants you exclusivity to a particular area, small or large, based on meeting and maintaining certain requirements including a minimum monthly sales volume.
Monthly sales requirements are typically on the order of 30-50 cases per month depending on area, but the distributor receives very large discounts which make their efforts very profitable.
