Question:

"I have two leather chairs -- steel blue leather. They are covered with minute white spots. I suspect it is the fine mist from a spray paint can. The wind probably blew it on them. Do you have a product or is there a way to clean these off without damaging the leather or the blue dye in the leather?
Thanks.
Rick Zimmer"

Answer:

"We have successfully removed paint spots from leather using Leather Mate, and have done so with spots larger than what you have been describing.

"The successful procedure has been:
  1. Appy a very generous coat of Leather Mate to the area and allow to sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Rub a second application into the area rubbing hard (applying a lot of pressure on the sponge).
  3. If the paint has not come off by this point, gently scrape the paint off with a fingernail.
"Usually the paint comes right off and no scratches or markes are made. Any color differences are then easily handled by giving the entire leather a quick Leather Mate treatment.

"If there are a lot of flecks it may take you a bit of time getting all of the more stubborn flecks off with your fingernail, but it is probably well worth it.

"Leather Mate will make the leather shiny so if you have a dull or matte finish you will want to try Tenderly, although from experience Tenderly is not as good at cleaning leather as Leather Mate.
